Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care (IMC) unit position requiring PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

• Work in the Intermediate Care (IMC) unit of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15)
• IMC unit patient ratio of 1:4
• Float required to Telemetry and/or Med-Surg units as needed, which maintain a 1:5/1:6 ratio
• Every other weekend coverage required, with scheduling directed by unit operational needs

Requirements

• Active RN license (MD or Compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years required
• PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Must have completed at least 1 previous travel assignment
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care within an Intermediate Care/Stepdown unit environment
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Skills include respiratory management (BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, oxygen therapy), IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management, and renal/dialysis management
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per 13-week contract
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Manager interviews are not guaranteed, and candidates should be comfortable proceeding without one
