Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room Scrub/Circulate position requiring cataract and small community hospital experience.
Details
- Work in a critical access community hospital's Surgical Services department with 2 operating rooms and a procedure room
- Mostly outpatient procedures with limited inpatient cases
- Services include general surgery, urology, ophthalmology, podiatry, pain, and endoscopy procedures
- Patient population is adults and geriatric patients ages 16 and older
- Days shift, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM, 4x8hr shifts per week
- Weekend call required approximately 1 weekend per month with 1-hour call back time
- Weekday on-call required 2-3 days per week with 1-hour call back time
Requirements
- Active VT RN license or compact license, willingness to obtain VT license prior to start required
- Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications
- Minimum 2-5 years of RN experience required
- Cataract experience required
- Both scrubbing and circulating experience required
- Experience working in a smaller OR facility required
- Phase I/PACU experience required
- Multiple surgical specialty experience required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- BSN preferred
- Travel nursing experience highly preferred
Additional Information
- Functions as a key member of the surgical team in both circulating and scrubbing capacities
- Hospital-provided scrubs required for dress code
- Candidates must have their own vehicle due to lack of public transportation in this small community
- Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
- Must be willing to work two holiday blocks if scheduled: Thanksgiving Day through the following weekend, Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and the following weekend, and New Year's Eve through New Year's Day and the following weekend
- All requested time off must be submitted and verified prior to consideration, with no more than 5 days of RTO accepted
- 8-hour non-billable orientation required
