Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring 24 months of L&D experience and EFM certification.
Details
- Maternity Unit with Labor & Delivery, Nursery, NICU, and C-section suite
- 16 maternity beds, 12 nursery beds, 4 NICU beds, and 1 C-section suite
- Patient ratios: Labor 1:1, Postpartum 1:2, NICU 2:1
- Cares for antepartum, mother-baby, newborn, OB/GYN, and NICU patient types
- Level 2 maternal/neonatal center with 50-60 births per month
- Administers medication drips/titrations including glucose, magnesium, pitocin, and insulin
- Night shift, 3x12s, 36 hrs/week
- Every 3rd weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required to care for various patient types within the unit
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active IA RN license or compact/multistate license required
- BLS and ACLS certification (AHA) required
- NRP certification required
- Intermediate or Advanced EFM (electronic fetal monitoring) certification required
- STABLE certification required
- Minimum 24 months of current Labor & Delivery experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience administering glucose, magnesium, pitocin, and insulin required
- Mother-Baby/Nursery experience preferred
- NICU experience preferred
- Postpartum experience is a plus
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Skills checklist specific to L&D required for consideration
- Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care across Labor & Delivery, Nursery, NICU, and C-section settings
- Required to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming Winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) unless the unit is closed
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Past UnityPoint Health FTE or PRN float pool employees are restricted from travel assignments at other UPH facilities within 12 months of separation
