Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring the ability to manage a high-risk unit with high patient census.

Details

• Delivery Room unit within a hospital setting
• High-risk labor and delivery patient population
• Requires managing a high patient census
• 12-hour AM shifts scheduled 7a-7p, 3 days per week
• No on-call responsibilities
• Travelers may be required to float to a nearby sister hospital
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience functioning effectively in a high-risk labor and delivery unit required
• Knowledge of surgical conditions, procedures, and pre/postoperative assessment required
• Strong assessment, clinical, and documentation skills required

Additional Information

• Responsible for comprehensive patient assessments across all age groups from pediatric to geriatric
• Provides direct patient care and demonstrates knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures
• Maintains complete and accurate documentation of the nursing process and patient progress
• Follows National Patient Safety Goals including Universal Protocol and two-patient identifier verification
• Uses safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics
• Provides patient and family education regarding procedures and instructions
• Local candidates accepted at a different pay rate
• Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from the initial start date, after which a break is required before returning to a new assignment
