Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Neurology/Stroke Unit position requiring NIHSS certification and a TN or compact RN license.

Details

• Work on a 30-bed designated Stroke Unit that also cares for general medical/surgical patients during lower stroke volume periods
• Patient population ranges from young adult to late adult (18-60+)
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:6
• Core staffing team includes RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and Nurse Interns with the RN assuming full responsibility for team patients
• Night shift schedule from 18:45-07:15
• 13-week assignment length
• May be required to float between units or facilities within a 35-mile radius based on staffing needs, census, and acuity, with advance notice always provided before the shift

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• NIHSS certification required
• Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Nursys verification and primary source license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Must provide a US Social Security Number and US home address

• Strong teamwork and clear communication skills are essential
• Radius rule applies allowing local candidates but at a reduced rate, which varies by facility location
• Travelers should begin discussing extension with their manager approximately 45 days before assignment end date
