Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a mixed ICU/Step Down unit requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and float availability to a sister unit.

Details

• 20-bed mixed ICU/Step Down unit
• ICU patient ratio of 2:1 and Step Down ratio of 3:1
• Floating required to sister unit 5S for Step Down (1:3) or progressive level patients at 4:1
• Night shift schedule from 19:00-07:30
• 13-week assignment length
• Weekend and holiday rotation commitment required
• Patient population includes severe respiratory failure, sepsis/septic shock, hemodynamic instability, non-surgical neurologic conditions, complex metabolic/endocrine disorders, cardiac conditions, and GI/hepatic failure
• Cares for patients requiring continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring, invasive arterial lines, NIH and TNK therapy, mechanical or noninvasive ventilation, titrated IV medications, and enteral/parenteral nutrition

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• Current ACLS certification (AHA) required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Must provide a US Social Security Number and US home address

Additional Information

• Deliver critical care nursing to a high-acuity mixed ICU/Step Down patient population
• Manage titrated medication regimens including vasopressors, sedatives, insulin, and antiarrhythmics
• Monitor patients with frequent lab work and complex treatment plans
• COVID-19 vaccination not required
• Radius rule applies which may affect pay rate for local candidates
• First-time travelers may be considered
