Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN for a Level III unit requiring therapeutic cooling experience and a TN or compact RN license.
Details
- Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit setting
- Cares for premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates including infants requiring therapeutic hypothermia/cooling
- Manages high-acuity patients requiring advanced respiratory and hemodynamic support
- Uses ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP/NIPPV, and high-flow oxygen
- Monitors and manages central lines, PICC lines, and umbilical lines (UAC/UVC)
- Administers and titrates IV medications, continuous infusions, TPN, and blood products
- 13-week assignment with a night shift schedule (18:30-07:00)
Requirements
- Active RN license, TN or compact required
- Current BLS (AHA) and NRP certifications
- Minimum 1 year of NICU experience required, 3-4+ years of Level III NICU experience preferred
- Hands-on therapeutic cooling experience required
- Comfortable independently managing complex, high-acuity NICU patients with minimal supervision
- Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
Additional Information
- Participates in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization and recognizes/responds to neonatal deterioration
- Collaborates with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and the multidisciplinary NICU team
- Provides education and emotional support to families throughout the infant's hospitalization
- Maintains accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Previous travel nurse experience preferred but first-time travelers may be considered
- Local candidates accepted, though a radius rule may apply that affects pay rate
- Covid vaccination is not required
