Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU Registered Nurse for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring strong ventilator and central line care skills.

Details

• Work in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (2S NICU) of a hospital setting
• Family-centered care unit encouraging parental participation in infant care
• Unit is pursuing Baby Friendly designation with a focus on breastfeeding practices
• 12-hour night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week
• No floating or charge responsibilities required

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an acute care setting
• Minimum 2 years of full-time experience in a specialized unit within the last 2 years
• At least 2 completed travel assignments in the past 12 months working full-time in acute care
• Current EMR experience required
• Proficient in IV skills and IV fluid maintenance
• Strong knowledge of ventilator care and central lines (UACs, UVCs, PICC, and midlines)
• Experience with chest tube maintenance and care
• Strong teaching skills for parent education
• Two clinical references required from the last two places of employment, including at least one from a Nurse Manager or Director
• Reference must include facility names, specialties, dates, supervisor name, bed count, trauma level, and travel/non-travel designation
• 7 years of previous employment history required, including explanations for any gaps over 30 days
• Current skills checklist valid within the past year required

Additional Information

• Serve as a breastfeeding resource for mothers on the unit
• Support parental participation and education as part of family-centered care approach
• Work alongside a supportive NICU team that uses a collaborative approach for assistance
• Local candidates accepted
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate
• Only one active submission allowed per candidate for this facility at a time
• First-time travelers not considered for this position
