Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Neonatal ICU position requiring strong ventilator and central line experience along with 2+ years of acute care nursing background.
Details
- Work in the 2S Neonatal Intensive Care unit of a hospital setting
- Family-centered care unit encouraging parental participation and breastfeeding practices, working toward Baby Friendly designation
- 12-hour night shift schedule, 36 hours per week
- No floating or charge responsibilities required
Requirements
- Active FL or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years experience in an acute care setting
- At least 2 years full-time experience in specialized units within the last 2 years
- Minimum of 2 completed travel assignments in the past 12 months working full time in an acute care setting
- Current EMR experience required
- Proficient in IV skills and IV fluid maintenance
- Strong knowledge of ventilator care
- Strong knowledge of central lines including UACs, UVCs, PICC, and midlines
- Experience with chest tube maintenance and care
- Strong teaching skills for parents
- Two clinical references required from the last two places of employment, including at least one from a Nurse Manager or Director
- Employment history required for the past 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
- Current skills checklist valid within the past year
Additional Information
- Serve as a breastfeeding resource for mothers
- Collaborate with a supportive NICU team using a team-based approach
- Provide teaching and support to parents involved in their infant's care
- Accepts local candidates
- Radius rate applies for candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility
- Candidates whose primary residence is less than 50 miles from the facility are not eligible for travel placement
- Can only submit to one position at this facility at a time
