Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring a CA RN license, PALS, and 2+ years of recent PICU experience.
Details
- PICU unit in a Level 2 trauma facility with 8 unit beds
- Patient population includes respiratory illness, spinal surgery, craniotomy, sepsis, shock, DKA, general surgery, and ENT cases, ages infant and up
- Patient ratio of 1:2 with criteria for 1:1 as needed
- 12-hour night shift schedule (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
- Up to 4 weekend shifts per month required
- No on-call requirements
- Float required to Pediatrics or NICU, up to 1-2 units per 12-hour shift, with travelers floating first
- Uses Epic for documentation and Pyxis for medication management
- Special equipment includes Phillips MX 800 monitors
- Respiratory therapy available 24/7; ventilators managed by RT
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- BLS and PALS certifications required (AHA only)
- NRP certification preferred
- 2+ years of recent clinical experience required
- 2+ years of recent PICU specialty experience required
- Epic experience preferred
- Previous travel experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care in a Magnet-designated hospital with 24/7 in-house PICU Intensivist coverage
- 3-4 days of orientation provided
- Must be available for 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) and 2 of 3 summer holidays (Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day)
- Scrubs of any color accepted, no denim, professional appearance required
- Non-skid, closed-toe shoes required; clogs must have a heel strap
- Minimal, professional jewelry permitted with no facial piercings other than ears
- Hair must be pulled back if shoulder-length or longer; facial hair must be neat and trimmed
- No gel, acrylic, or extension nail polish; polish must be free of chips or cracks
- First-time travelers welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
