Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department role requiring 3+ years of ER experience and prior travel assignment experience.

Details

• Level II Trauma Center emergency department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
• STEMI and Stroke certified facility
• 1:4 patient ratio
• Evening shifts (3x12 or 4x12 hours, 13:00-01:00) on an alternating 36/48 hour biweekly schedule
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required, in-hand before start
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, ENPC, and MAB
• Minimum 3 years of ER experience required
• Prior travel nurse experience required, no first-time travelers accepted
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Skilled in emergency care across pediatrics, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, and shock/trauma presentations
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and vascular access preferred
• Two supervisor references required from within the last 3 years of employment

Additional Information

• Deliver emergency care across a wide range of trauma, medical, and behavioral health presentations
• Manage gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, and multisystem organ dysfunction cases
• Perform triage and apply appropriate isolation precautions and PPE
• Manage orthopedic trauma including splinting
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening, including marijuana testing, upon arrival
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius, and local candidates are not accepted
• Must be available to complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting an offer
• Required documentation due 3 business days prior to start date
