Description
American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (PET/CT) with 2+ years of experience and strong cardiac PET skills for a teaching hospital setting.
Details
- Nuclear Medicine department in a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital
- PET/CT technologist role with focus on cardiac PET and FDG cardiac imaging
- 4x10 hour day shifts Monday-Wednesday (8 AM-6:30 PM) plus Saturday shifts (6:30 AM-5 PM)
- On-call requirement
- Floating within the hospital required; no floating to sister facilities
- Performs PET cardiac perfusion, PYP amyloid, thallium viability, MUGA studies, and R to L shunt studies
- Performs bone, bone marrow, and WBC (TC and 111Indium) scans
- Performs CSF leak, cisternogram, brain perfusion, brain shunt patency, DAT scans, and brain death flow studies
- Performs gastric emptying, hepatobiliary, GI bleed, and liver/spleen scans
- Performs lung VQ and quantification VQ scans, and MIBG scans
- Performs DTPA GFR determination lab procedure
- Performs lymph melanoma and lymphangiogram studies
- Performs parathyroid studies, MAG3 renal studies, and thyroid studies for hyperthyroidism and thyroid cancer
- Performs Y90 treatment imaging, 131I thyroid treatment, and Xofigo treatment imaging
- Uses GE nuclear medicine equipment
- Charts in Epic
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of nuclear medicine technologist experience with strong cardiac PET skills
- BLS certification required
- NMTCB or ARRT (N) certification required
- ARRT (CT) or NMTCB (CT) certification required
- PET experience required
- WA state license required if applicable
- Epic charting experience preferred but not required
- Proficient in isolation precautions and PPE
- Skilled in starting and maintaining IVs
- Experience storing, handling, and disposing of radioactive materials
- Experience with myocardial PET scans and pharmacological stress procedures
- Comfortable working with adult patients in hospital and clinic settings

- Weekend work required
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- No radius restriction for eligibility
- Maximum RTO of 1 week during the assignment
- Prior UW staff must have a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
