Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a teaching hospital setting, requiring at least 18 months of recent OR experience and a valid IN or Compact RN license.
Details
- Operating Room setting within an academic health center and teaching hospital
- 24-bed unit with an average census of 70-80
- Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts, Monday-Friday, 10:45 AM-9:15 PM
- Call requirement of 40-60 hours within a 6-week schedule
- 100% floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
- Utilizes the DaVinci XI Surgical System
Requirements
- Active IN or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start
- Current BLS certification required (AHA or RQI accepted)
- Minimum 18 months of recent RN experience unless otherwise specified
- Minimum 2 years of circulating OR experience within the last 3 years across General, Ortho, Robotics, GYN, Thoracic, ENT, Oral, Urology, Whipple, Plastics (free flap), and Liver resection procedures
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Cerner charting experience required
- Charge experience preferred
- RN degree must be from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
- 2 supervisor references required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Circulate a wide variety of complex surgical cases including general, orthopedic, robotic, gynecologic, thoracic, ENT, oral, urologic, plastics, and transplant procedures
- Work within a high-acuity, complex cancer care and academic medical center environment
- Charge pay is offered
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- IN residents are considered local and accepted for this Surgical Services position at a lower in-state rate
- Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Former IU perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Current or past IU travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility (3 months for out-of-state residents, 6 months for in-state residents)
