Description

American Traveler is hiring a Critical Care Float RN for a night shift hospital float pool position requiring ICU experience and floating across multiple units.

Details

• Hospital-based Critical Care Float pool position
• Floats throughout the hospital including Emergency Department, ER hold, Medical Surgical, Telemetry, and Stepdown/PCU
• Med-Surg ratios up to 1:6
• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Flexible scheduling required due to pool staffing; no block schedule requests accepted

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ICU experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, and central line care/management
• Experience starting and maintaining IVs
• Respiratory/thoracic experience including BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator patient care, and suctioning (ETT, NT)
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response experience, including management of dysrhythmias
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Copies of required certifications needed for consideration

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Locals accepted at the same bill rate
• Perm, per diem, or FCSS staff must be away from all facilities within the health system for one full year before applying as a traveler
• Returning travelers who cancelled or received a facility DNR must complete one assignment outside the health system before reapplying
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at time of submission
• No RTO can be requested during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required: if one or two major holidays fall during the assignment, no holiday RTO can be requested; if three major holidays fall during the assignment, one holiday RTO request may be considered
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Full compliance required to start on time
