Description

American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care Unit RN for a night shift acute care surgery position requiring VA or compact RN license and Epic charting experience.

Details

• Acute Care Surgery Progressive Care Unit within a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Minimum 2 holidays per contract required
• Candidates will float within scope if needed

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required, with 2 years experience preferred
• BSN preferred, though diploma and Associate degree graduates from accredited schools are accepted
• Epic charting experience required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and IV therapy/phlebotomy required
• Conscious sedation and telemetry skills preferred
• 2 professional references required

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry-level nursing care to acute care surgery patients including cardiac monitoring and IV therapy
• Complete facility-required orientation modules during the first week of assignment
• Facility maintains a natural nail policy
• Facility is a drug, tobacco, and smoke-free workplace
• Candidates must not have been employed by the health system within the previous 12 months to be eligible as a traveler
• Both travelers and permanent staff must be separated for one year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted at the same base rate with no radius restrictions
• Requested time off must be submitted for consideration in advance, subject to manager approval; no time off granted during the first week of assignment
