Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and a ME or compact RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg General unit with 45 beds
• Patient population includes orthopedic, general surgery, and urology cases with top diagnoses of CHF, COPD, and pneumonia
• Pediatric patients admitted to the general floor require PALS certification, though this is not mandatory for travelers
• Patient ratios of 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights
• Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Works every other weekend
• Floating required, limited to facilities within a 25-mile radius
• Uses Plum pumps, Pyxis, Ascom phones, bladder scanner, EKG machine, and Phillips cardiac monitor
• Charts in EPIC

Requirements

• Active RN license (ME or compact) required
• BLS and ACLS required, PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• IV skills and telemetry monitoring experience required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• 2 professional references required

• Provide patient-focused, organized nursing care with strong documentation practices
• Positive, professional, team-oriented personality valued
• Scrubs may be any color as long as clean and in good repair, with no prints
• Hoodies, crocs, and open-toed shoes or shoes with holes are not permitted
• Local candidates within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility are considered local and are not eligible for renewals or extensions
• RTO should be kept to a minimum, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract
