Description
American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry/PCU Registered Nurse requiring an OH or compact license, EPIC experience, and at least 2 years of relevant experience.
Details
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a hospital environment
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Telemetry monitoring for cardiac patients including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Cardiac monitoring with rapid response/code team involvement
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Must be able to pass a telemetry competency test
- Prior telemetry patient monitoring experience required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- General nursing skills required including IV starts, monitoring, labs, medication administration, and patient education
- Additional skills include central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, heparin protocols, PCA, wound care, IV insulin protocol management, and non-invasive airway management
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
Additional Information
- Deliver telemetry-based nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response
- Provide wound care, insulin drip titration, and airway/oxygen management as needed
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted
- Former employees eligible to return as travelers after 6 months away from the facility
- Current employees are ineligible for travel assignments at this health system
- Locals accepted at the same rate
- RTO must be submitted with the contract and limited to 7 days or less
- Fingerprinting must be completed urgently after contract signing due to Ohio state requirements
