Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Step Down/IMU unit position requiring compact or VA licensure and prior specialty experience.
Details
- Step Down/Intermediate Care Unit (IMU) setting within a hospital
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (19:00-07:00)
- Floating required to Intermediate and MedSurg units, with travelers floating first as needed
- No first-time travelers accepted
Requirements
- Active compact or VA RN license required in hand
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the unit specialty, 2-3 years overall experience preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required, NIH certification also required
- Candidates with pending certifications may be considered
- Cerner/Oracle Health charting experience preferred but not required
- BSN not required
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care within a step down/intermediate care unit setting
- Biweekly orientation held on Mondays
- Expect to work some holidays and weekends in rotation with staff
- RTO must be approved prior to assignment start, with a preference for no RTO in the first weeks
- Scrub requirements: any color, professional appearance, child-friendly prints and lab coats allowed
- Nicotine-free campus
- Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- Candidates must live within a 60-mile radius of the facility
- Floating adheres to Joint Commission standards, including appropriate orientation to the new unit
