Description
American Traveler is hiring a Neuro ICU RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and a VA or compact RN license.
Details
- Neuro ICU setting within a hospital's intensive care unit
- Night shift schedule with 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts from 19:00-07:00
- Typically 2-3 weekend shifts per month based on unit needs
- Call requirements based on unit needs
- Floating expected, with travelers prioritized to float first
- Cerner/Oracle Health charting experience preferred but not required
Requirements
- Active RN license, compact or VA license required in hand
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, neuro experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- BSN not required
- Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, ventilator patient care, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, CVA/acute stroke management, and IV insulin protocols
- Experience with respiratory/thoracic and endocrine/metabolic patient care preferred
Additional Information
- Care for critically ill neuro and medical ICU patients requiring advanced monitoring and interventions
- Biweekly orientation held on Mondays
- Nicotine-free campus
- Scrubs not provided
- Must reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility
- Local candidates not accepted under the standard travel rate
- Holiday coverage expected in rotation with staff
- RTO must be approved prior to assignment start, with a preference for no time off requested during the first few weeks
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
