Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring AWHONN Intermediate certification and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit in a Level 1 nursery facility caring for patients greater than 35 weeks gestation
- Manages high-risk conditions including pre-eclampsia, GDM, oligohydramnios, and GHTN
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
- Weekend and holiday rotation required
- Low census on-call requirement
- Floating to Postpartum required as needed
- Centricity charting system experience preferred
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in labor and delivery management, high-risk delivery assistance, C-section circulation/scrub, and fetal monitoring
- Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives preferred
- 1 supervisory reference from within the last year required for consideration
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, antepartum, and postpartum nursing care
- Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and vaginal deliveries
- Support newborn care including assessments, cord care, and discharge teaching to parents
- Scrubs are provided
- Orientations occur biweekly
- Holiday coverage rotation required
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced rate
- Candidates with prior permanent employment at this health system must not have been employed within the past 6 months
- RTO must be limited to 5-7 days maximum
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (10/31-3/31) with no exemptions
