Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Neuro/Epilepsy unit on night shift, requiring a TX or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Details

• Neuroscience and Epilepsy unit within an acute care hospital setting
• 29-bed unit staffed with 9 RNs and 3 PCTs on days and 9 RNs and 2 PCTs on nights
• Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
• Cares for neuro patients including TIA, stroke, epilepsy, and ictal SPECT cases
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Requires floating to all acute care areas including med surg, general surgery, renal transplant, telemetry, neuro, and ortho
• Requires 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg or specialty experience required
• Strong time management skills required
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• One professional reference required for most states (two required for Florida and Missouri)
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Royal blue scrubs required as part of dress code
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
• First-time travelers may be considered
