Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN for a night shift acute care position requiring a CA RN license and prior Med Surg/Telemetry experience.

Details

• Acute care Telemetry unit setting
• Patient population includes Med Surg/Telemetry, with ratios of 1:4 for Telemetry and 1:5 for Med Surg
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (PALS preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• 2 years of Med Surg/Telemetry RN experience required
• Prior Epic charting experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral/PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
• LTAC experience preferred
• Pediatric experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide holistic, individualized nursing care including assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of patient care
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to coordinate patient-centered care plans
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and transitions of care
• Mentor and orient newly hired staff as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate; local candidates accepted at local rate
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Lab work must be completed within 3-5 days of contract signing
