Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with 2+ years of MedSurg/Telemetry experience and an active CA RN license for a day shift acute care position.

Details

• Acute care Telemetry unit setting
• Patient population includes cardiac telemetry, MS/Tele, neurological (CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, TBI), and oncology patients
• Patient ratios: MedSurg 1:5, Telemetry 1:4, Pediatric 1:4
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Uses Epic EMR (required)
• Requires skills in IV therapy, central/PICC/peripheral line management, blood product administration, and respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, ABG interpretation)
• Requires cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team use

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications required (department specific)
• PALS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required, including 2 years in MedSurg/Telemetry
• Previous Epic charting experience required
• LTAC experience preferred
• Pediatric experience preferred
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
• Travel experience required

Additional Information

• Responsible for assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of patient care in an acute setting
• Collaborates with physicians and healthcare team to coordinate patient-centered care plans
• Provides patient/family education and supports transitions of care
• Serves as a clinical resource and mentor to newly hired staff as needed
• Maintains compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and PHI confidentiality
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to be eligible for the local rate
• Returning employees must have been separated for at least 1 year to reapply as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
