Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring NC or compact license and prior travel experience.
Details
- Inpatient rehabilitation unit specializing in Med/Surg Tele care
- Patient population includes CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injury, neurological diagnoses, and generalized debility cases
- Standard patient ratio of 1:6, with one unit rotating a 1:7 ratio at equivalent acuity
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every 3rd weekend required, plus holidays as needed
- Floating required across all Cone Health campuses as needed
- Uses EPIC EMR system
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Acute care rehab experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia/EKG interpretation
- Must pass a compliance EKG exam (pass/fail, two attempts allowed)
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- No first-time travelers considered
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include interpretation of lab results, medication reconciliation, patient health history and allergy review, and vital sign monitoring
- Performs dressing changes, sets up aseptic/sterile procedure trays, and conducts phlebotomy and specimen labeling
- Handles telephone triage and pharmacy refill call coordination
- Provides specialized rehabilitative care for patients recovering from stroke, aneurysm, or post-surgical neurological conditions
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, with no local rate option
- RTO requests must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO accepted
