Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry/PCU position requiring an active IL license and 2 years of experience.

Details

• Cardiac Stepdown unit within a hospital setting
• 1:7 patient ratio
• 12-hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Float required within the same discipline across local campuses
• Uses Epic EMR
• Contract lengths of 8, 10, or 13 weeks available

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at time of submission, with IA license or compact license application in process
• BLS and ACLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• Experience with chest tubes, femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, and central lines required
• Experience administering and titrating Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, and Argatroban required
• Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission required
• One supervisory reference from within 2 years of employment/contract required
• Driver's license or proof of permanent residency required
• At least 1 completed travel contract preferred

Additional Information

• Contribute professional and clinical nursing knowledge as part of an interdisciplinary care team
• Facility is a Level 1 trauma center
• Candidates must not have been employed by the facility within the past 12 months
• Must maintain a taxable address outside 50 miles of the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
• Required to work 2 of 3 winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving)
• Limited to 1 day off request during defined winter holiday blackout periods
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
