Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of L&D/LDRP/PP/Newborn experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting handling 200-300 births per month
• Patient populations include Labor and Delivery, Post Partum, OB Triage, Antepartum, and Normal Newborn cases
• Staffing ratio ranges from 1:1 to 1:3
• Performs vaginal and cesarean deliveries, circulates in the OR, and starts adult IVs
• Administers blood and blood products, manages drains, epidural pumps, and PCA pumps
• Administers insulin and magnesium sulfate therapy
• Works with high risk antepartum, high risk L&D, LDRP, low risk antepartum/LD, OB-GYN, and couplet care patients
• Uses Epic EMR
• Night shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Float required as needed between sister facilities

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of experience in LDRP, L&D, Post Partum, and Newborn care required
• BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM, and NRP certifications required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Skilled in fetal heart monitoring, circulating for C-sections, and IV starts
• Experience with IUPC placement and calibration
• Experience with sterile vaginal exams and assisting high risk deliveries
• Epic EMR experience required
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care across labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care areas
• Manage antepartum care, obstetrical triage, and pain management including PCA use
• Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• RTO requests should be submitted upfront prior to offer as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
• Local candidates accepted at the standard bill rate
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to local rate rules
• Previous Providence system employees must have a 3-month break in service and reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify
• Travelers should disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities, including location and dates
• First-time travelers are not required to have previous travel experience for this role
• Expected to float between sister facilities within the health system as needed
