Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Dept RN for a night shift role requiring compact or MD licensure and prior travel assignment experience.

Details

• Work in a General Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric patients
• Patient ratio of 1:4-6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15)
• Every other weekend required, with 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (Friday and Saturday nights)
• Cerner EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license, either Compact or MD license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS (CPI and TNCC preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience within the last 7 years
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
• Community hospital experience required; teaching hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skilled in pediatric and adult emergency care including trauma, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric conditions
• Experience with IV therapy, emergency medications, and cardiac monitoring/dysrhythmia management
• Proficient in EKG/ECG interpretation and rhythm recognition

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, respiratory distress, psychiatric emergencies, and cardiac events
• Perform triage, splinting, and management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction
• Orientation held every Monday
• Scrubs not provided; royal blue color required
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate within 60 miles
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Previous MedStar employees must have a minimum one-year separation before returning as a traveler
• No more than 7 days RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first two weeks of the assignment
