Description
American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring neurology experience and NIHSS certification.
Details
- Neuro Stepdown/Telemetry unit within a short-term acute care, Level II Trauma Center and teaching hospital
- Patient ratios of 1:4-5
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating between units required, including sister facilities
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required, must be in hand at submission
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Neurology RN experience required, including care for post-surgical and various neurology diagnoses
- Comfortable using the NIH Stroke Scale
- Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac)
- Experience with craniotomy, CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury care
- Cardiac monitoring skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry and neuro stepdown nursing care for a diverse neurology and cardiac patient population
- Scrub color for RNs is any color
- No parking fee at this facility
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the travel rate; local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee and must be outside the 50-mile radius
- Only one active submission to a Providence facility is allowed at a time
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests should be submitted upfront during the application process to avoid delays
- Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
- Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities, including permanent, travel, or per-diem roles
