Description
American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift assignment requiring neurology experience and comfort with the NIH Stroke Scale.
Details
- Neuro Stepdown/Telemetry unit within a short term acute care hospital
- Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, teaching hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:4-5
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating between units and sister facilities required
- No on-call requirements
- Epic charting system used
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Neurology RN experience required, including care of post-surgical neurology patients and various neurology diagnoses
- Comfort with the NIH Stroke Scale required
- Experience with skills such as BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, craniotomy care, CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, TBI, and cardiac dysrhythmia management/interpretation preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry and neuro stepdown nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and procedural sedation monitoring
- Must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility, including permanent, travel, or per-diem roles, with location and dates
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travelers and must reside outside a 50-mile radius
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- No fee for parking at the facility
