Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Level II Trauma unit requiring strong neuro critical care experience and CA RN licensure.

Details

• Level 2 Trauma, Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center with high acuity neuro population
• Cares for cardiovascular, multi-trauma, gunshot, stroke, STEMI, and motor vehicle accident patients
• Manages CABG/Valve/IABP, CRRT, sepsis, and surgical patients
• Includes 12 overflow beds
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• No weekend requirement
• No on-call requirement
• Required to float between PCU and ICU overflow units
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required, compact license must be in hand at submission
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Community Hospital experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required, Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and LA City Fire Card
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Strong neuro critical care experience required, including CVA/acute stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgery care
• Experience with ventilator management, arterial lines, central lines, and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and multisystem organ dysfunction care
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the state
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of application
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius, though at a lower bill rate
• Former Providence permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities, including permanent, travel, or registry/per-diem roles
