Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a Level 4 neonatal intensive care unit requiring at least 2 years of Level 4 NICU experience and an active OR RN license.
Details
- Level 4 NICU with 46 beds caring for critically ill, convalescing, and growing premature and term newborns
- Admissions come from the hospital's own high-risk perinatal department as well as transports from Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Hawaii
- Access to specialists in endocrine, pulmonary, genetics, renal, metabolic, ophthalmology, neurology, general pediatric surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery
- Nurses participate in educating students and pediatric residents in this teaching hospital setting
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Weekend requirement
- No on-call requirement
- Floating required within the hospital; no floating to sister hospitals
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active RN license (OR) required
- BSN required
- Minimum 2 years of Level 4 NICU experience required
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- PALS and STABLE certifications preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience with respiratory care including Bubble CPAP, tracheostomy care/management, and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
- PA Lines experience preferred
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required (charge RN references not accepted)
- COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions
Additional Information
- Provide family-centered care to fragile neonatal patients and their families
- Facility is a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center and teaching hospital
- Scrubs provided for OR use; no prints allowed
- Must be available to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day)
- November and December start dates available
- First-time travelers accepted with 3+ years of experience
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
- Maximum RTO of 1 week, must be submitted upfront
- Returning staff must have been gone at least 6 months to be eligible for a new assignment
- Candidates may float to a nearby affiliate hospital as needed; refusal to float may result in contract cancellation
