Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric ICU position requiring BLS, PALS certification, and at least 2 years of PICU experience.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) at a hospital setting
• 13-week assignment on night shift (4x12 hours, 19:00-07:00)
• 36 or 48 hours per week schedule
• Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays
• 3 weekends required per six-week schedule
• May float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics based on staffing needs
• 1:2 patient ratio experience

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required (pending license accepted, must be in hand by the Wednesday before start)
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Pediatric cardiac experience a plus
• BSN preferred
• Experience with respiratory, cardiovascular, renal, neurologic, GI, and medication management skills relevant to pediatric critical care preferred
• Two professional references required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients in the PICU, including ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and central line care
• Float within scope of practice to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics as needed based on staffing
• Maximum of 40 hours of RTO approved per 13-week contract, with no additional time off approved after offer acceptance
• Time off not approved during the first 2 weeks of the contract
• Any vacation time between sign date and start date must be disclosed prior to confirming a start date
• Previous UVA Health permanent staff or internal/external travelers require 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning
• External travelers may not exceed 365 total assignment days at the facility
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
