Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med Surg/Telemetry night shift position requiring floating to PCU and proficiency interpreting heart rhythms.

Details

• Med Surg unit setting within a hospital environment
• Required to float between Med Surg and PCU units
• 12-hour night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required (compact license not accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification through American Heart Association
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience required
• Prior experience floating to PCU required
• Proficiency with telemetry monitoring required
• Must be able to read and interpret heart rhythms
• Must pass a dysrhythmia test prior to working on the floor
• Skills checklist current within 1 year pertinent to Med Surg/Tele specialty required
• 2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years required
• COVID vaccine required, exemptions allowed

Additional Information

• Deliver patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Develop and update individualized care plans within 24 hours of admission and revise at least every 24 hours
• Provide emotional, psychological, and educational support to patients and families
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and case management to coordinate discharge planning
• Recognize changes in patient status and provide appropriate intervention and documentation
• No more than 5 days of RTO can be requested during the assignment
