Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring compact/IA licensure, prior travel experience, and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Med/Surg unit caring for all types of medical-surgical patients
• Patient ratios of 4-5:1 on a 15-bed unit
• Uses Epic EMR and administers Heparin drips
• Remote telemetry monitoring by tele techs
• Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts totaling 48 hrs (36 hrs can be accommodated if preferred)
• Weekend rotation required every other or every third weekend depending on staffing/census
• Required to float across all campuses including Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Iowa Lutheran Hospital, and Methodist West Hospital within contracted skillset/unit
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active IA or compact/multistate RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 24 months of Med/Surg or Med/Surg Tele experience required
• Must have completed at least one travel contract within the previous 18 months (no first-time travelers)
• Proficiency caring for all patient types within a med/surg population required
• Recent charge or precepting experience required
• Telemetry/cardiac background highly preferred
• Skills checklist specific to Med/Surg or Med/Surg Tele required for consideration
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across a variety of med/surg cases with telemetry monitoring support
• Join a growing unit focused on teamwork, adaptability, and mentoring colleagues
• Navy blue solid-colored scrubs required
• Holiday rotation required, working 1-2 of 3 major holidays unless the unit is closed
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration
• Past UPH employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible for travel assignments in any market within 12 months of separation; this restriction does not apply to prior UPH travel assignments
