Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Center position requiring TNCC certification and MEDITECH EMR experience.

Details

• Acute care Emergency Center setting with approx. 180-200 patient visits per day
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• 6-bed behavioral/psych lockdown area staffed by psych personnel
• Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics, including trauma, neuro, CVA, and ortho cases
• Facility is a CVA center; some trauma and neuro trauma cases are stabilized and transferred out
• No burn patients treated onsite
• Nurses perform their own lab draws and start their own IVs
• 24/7 dedicated Respiratory Therapist support for ventilated patients held in ER
• Charge nurse present on every shift
• 5-6 nurse aides/paramedics per shift
• Central monitoring tech for telemetry
• Security and safety sitters available for at-risk patients
• Uses MEDITECH 6.15 EMR
• Evening shift, 1p-1a, 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week guaranteed
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• 16 hours of orientation plus 2 shifts of floor-specific orientation

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 5 years of experience required
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS or ASLS
• MEDITECH EMR experience required
• Driver's license address must match submission for consideration

Additional Information

• Care for a wide range of ED patients from pediatrics to geriatrics, including trauma, neuro, and ortho cases
• Complete Orientation Requirement Training (ORT) within the first week of assignment unless otherwise approved by EC leadership
• Caribbean Blue scrubs required
• Auto lunch deductions apply
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for placement
• Not eligible for placement if previously employed by the facility within the last 12 months
