Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care/Stepdown Unit position requiring critical care stepdown experience and night shift availability.

Details

• Progressive Care Stepdown/Transitional unit within a Level 2 trauma facility
• 31-bed unit with adult and geriatric patient population
• Patient ratios of 1:4-1:5
• Common diagnoses include post vascular, post CABG, CVA, respiratory failure, heart failure, and post cath lab chest pain
• Uses Baxter IV pumps and occasional epidural pumps
• Meditech EHR system used
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No call requirements
• Possible floating to medsurg, though not likely

Requirements

• Active RN license (AL or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
• ADN or BSN required
• Experience with cardiac drips and chest tubes required
• Critical care stepdown/PCU experience and TR bands experience preferred
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care stepdown nursing care to adult and geriatric patients
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Candidates must be kind, respectful, team players, punctual, and flexible
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full time
• Weekly Monday orientations offered
