Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2 years of CVICU experience and a SC or compact RN license.
Details
- CVICU unit in a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
- Weekend coverage required every other weekend
- Floating to other units/campuses required based on census needs, within demonstrated competencies
Requirements
- Active RN license (SC or compact) required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Associate degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- 1+ years of recent experience in CVICU strongly preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience with Epic EMR required
- Proficiency in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
- Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory failure care
- Experience with post cardiac surgery care, IABP, CVP monitoring, and cardiac drip titration
- Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and IV insulin protocols
- Skilled in 12-lead EKG acquisition and cardiac monitoring
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to complex cardiovascular ICU patients including post-cardiac surgery and cardiac intervention cases
- Green scrubs required
- Orientation held every Monday with annual compliance requirements
- Pre-assignment testing and modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
- Travelers must reside more than 100 miles from any facility within the health system to be eligible, with reduced eligibility distances for certain ICU and specialty roles
