Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift acute care hospital position requiring 2 years of MS/Tele experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting on the Med/Surg Tele unit
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7p-7a)
• Every other weekend required
• On-call required but rare, limited to first 4 hours when needed
• Floating required within scope to like units or sister facilities as needed
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Driver's license and SSN required for consideration
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring
• Experience with respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and oxygen administration
• Experience with wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and surgical drain management
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization and cardiac surgery care preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to a cardiac telemetry and general med/surg population
• Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed for patient emergencies
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval, dependent on unit needs
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis within a 60-mile radius
• Non-local candidates are prioritized over local candidates
• During hurricane season (June through November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on the position
