Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for an IMC Telemetry position requiring vent and transplant experience along with a WI or compact RN license.
Details
- Work across two IMC units: Acute Med/Progressive Care (D6/5) and Thoracic (B4/3)
- Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown patient population
- Day/evening shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00am-7:30pm
- Monday through Friday schedule with every other weekend and some holidays required
- Floating required as needed
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years in specialty
- Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Telemetry, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
- Vent and transplant experience required
- Epic charting experience required, ideally within the past 12 months
- Must pass facility telemetry competency exam prior to start
- Skills required include IV therapy, central/arterial line management, blood product administration, PICC line management, and phlebotomy
- Respiratory skills required including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
- Cardiac monitoring skills required including dysrhythmia interpretation/management and rapid response/code team utilization
- Additional clinical skills required: wound care/wound vac, IV insulin protocols, pre/post cardiac cath and surgery care, TR Band use, pre/post hemodialysis management, and surgical drain care
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care in a Magnet-designated, Level II trauma teaching hospital ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital
- Must pass a telemetry exam with strict criteria, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and no more than one incorrect answer on 3rd degree heart block questions
- Up to two exam attempts allowed; a third attempt requires completion of a cardiac interpretation review course
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- Parking permit required if parking onsite, though alternative transportation options are available
