Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week assignment requiring a GA or compact RN license and prior med-surg experience.

Details

• Med-Surg/Ortho unit (5 West) within the main hospital building with 40 beds
• Patient ratio of approximately 1:7
• Unit staffed with 1 clinical nurse coordinator, 7 nurses, 4 PCTs, and 1 unit coordinator per shift
• Uses standard med-surg equipment and performs EKGs, glucose checks, and venipuncture
• Documentation completed in Meditech
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 36 hours per week with rotating weekends required
• Contract labor floats first to like units

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• At least 1 year of recent experience in med-surg specialty required
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• One professional reference required (two required for FL and MO)
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a busy med-surg/ortho unit performing routine procedures such as EKGs, glucose checks, and venipuncture
• Royal blue scrub top and bottom required as uniform
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
• First-time travelers may be considered
