Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN requiring 2 years of OR experience and a GA or compact RN license for a 13-week assignment.

Details

• Operating Room unit setting
• Day shift schedule (5x8 hours, 6:45 AM-3:15 PM)
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Call required 1-2 nights per week and 1-2 weekends per month
• Possible holiday call requirements

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (ACLS preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience required
• Experience with any charting system required
• Community hospital, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Skills in general surgery, thoracic, orthopedic, and urology procedures preferred, including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, thyroidectomy, arthroscopy, spinal fusion, joint replacement, cystoscopy, nephrectomy, and prostatectomy
• Experience with cell saver equipment and specimen handling preferred
• Knowledge of infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, and universal protocol (time out) procedures preferred

Additional Information

• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• Previous permanent employees eligible to return as travelers after 1 year of separation
• First-time travelers may be considered if minimum OR experience requirement is met
