Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a community hospital, requiring a VA or compact license and Epic charting experience.

• Community hospital Emergency Department setting
• General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric populations
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:00
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Float within scope as needed
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• BSN preferred, though diploma and Associate's degree graduates from ACEN or CCNE accredited schools accepted
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• NRP and TNCC certifications preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, triage, and isolation precautions/PPE
• 2 professional references required (supervisor level or above)

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
• Fingerprinting required per Code of Virginia 37.1-183.3, with average turnaround of 15-20 business days; candidates may not start with results pending
• Facility maintains a natural nail policy
• Drug, tobacco, and smoke-free workplace with no smoking permitted on campus
• Orientation includes required non-billable training modules averaging 6 hours, to be completed by the Friday of orientation week
• Travelers and permanent staff must be separated from the facility for a specified period before becoming eligible to return as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted at the same base rate with no radius restrictions
• RTO must be submitted for consideration; no time off granted during the first week of assignment
