Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift hospital position requiring 2 years of experience and prior travel experience.

Details

• 42-bed Med/Surg unit caring for post-surgical adult to geriatric patients, including ortho, urology, colorectal, bariatric, neuro, and general surgery cases
• Patient ratio of 1:6 across 42 rooms
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Epic EMR experience required; unit also uses Pyxis and SBAR communication

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, oxygen administration, IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, and cardiac monitoring
• Familiarity with rapid response/code team protocols
• Charge experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to a post-surgical Med/Surg population with diverse specialty needs
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, finalized at time of submission
• No RTO permitted during orientation week or the Spring Break blackout period (April 4th-12th)
• Holiday coverage required per facility policy based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Previous Piedmont employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers who were unable to return to a Piedmont facility must complete one successful assignment elsewhere before being considered again
• Shift and contract length are firm with no alternate schedule requests permitted
• Travel pairs cannot be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
