Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring dysrhythmia management proficiency and prior travel experience.
Details
- Float pool position covering all acute care and telemetry units, including Behavioral Health and Respite
- Includes ortho, neuro-stroke, and cardiac telemetry patient populations
- High volume of peripheral nerve catheter care on ortho floors
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:30
- Patient ratio of 1:4-5
- Shifts may be split, working 8 hours in one area and 4 hours in another, requiring strong time management skills
- Every other weekend required, with flexibility requested
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- No on-call requirements
- No block scheduling accommodations available
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or compact license required; pending license accepted
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Must pass a fill-in-the-blank telemetry test at orientation
- Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
- At least 2 prior travel assignments beyond initial hospital experience preferred
- Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred but not required
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
Additional Information
- Work in a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level I trauma hospital
- Manager prefers to avoid scheduling travel pairs
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
- Required to work all scheduled shifts; facility cannot accommodate scheduling requests outside approved RTO
- RTO cannot be requested during orientation week and should be kept to a minimum
- Holiday RTO restrictions apply: one of three major holidays may be requested off, with two holidays required to be worked; no Christmas RTO permitted
- Prior UW staff must be separated from the facility for 18 months before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates accepted at the same rates, with no mileage radius restriction
- Scrubs may be any solid color; light blue scrubs also provided on unit
