Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 5+ years of experience and Trauma Level II experience.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital environment
• General OR and Trauma work settings
• Mid-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 10:30am-7:00pm (5x8 hours)
• Requires participation in weekday, weekend, and holiday call
• May include charge nurse duties
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active TX RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS required; ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 5 years of Operating Room experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skilled in a broad range of surgical specialties including neurology, orthopedic, general surgery, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, and bariatric procedures
• Experience with robotic surgical systems (Da Vinci Xi, Mako) preferred
• Proficient in conscious sedation monitoring, specimen handling, universal protocol, and wound management
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties and procedures
• Facility conducts its own mandatory onsite drug screening, including marijuana testing
• Candidates must reside within 110 miles of the facility as local candidates are not accepted for this position
• Travel experience is highly preferred though not required based on candidate's experience
• Candidates should be available to complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting an offer
