Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Interventional Radiology RN with moderate sedation experience for a 13-week acute care assignment.
Details
- Acute care setting within a Level 2 Trauma Center's Interventional Radiology department with 2 labs
- Averages 5-10 cases per day including inpatient, outpatient, and emergent cases
- Case types include stroke thrombectomy, embolizations, lines, tubes, visceral, para, thoracentesis, and biopsies with drain/chest tube insertions
- Also supports CT and ultrasound areas
- Uses Epic EMR along with Philips Xper (Hemo) and Siemens C-Arm equipment
- Schedule consists of 2x10hr and 2x8hr shifts, or all 8-hour shifts, with hours ranging 0600-1630 and 0700-1530
- Team scheduling with self-scheduling posted 17 days in advance for 6-week blocks
- On-call required 1-2 weeknights per week, every third weekend, and every other holiday
- Call response time is 30 minutes
- Floating required to Radiology pre/post areas
- IR techs and a Team Lead are present in the lab to support the unit
Requirements
- Active RN license (ND state or Compact) required, pending licenses not accepted
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required and must be active, pending certifications not accepted
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- BSN not required for this position
- Moderate/conscious sedation experience required
- Strong teamwork skills and willingness to assist as needed
- Radiation badge must be supplied and in hand prior to start
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
Additional Information
- RN will manage conscious sedation with autonomy, in addition to charting, circulating, and pre/post care duties for IR procedures
- Interventional Radiologist and in-house intensivist MD available 24/7, with IR on call after hours
- One week of unit-specific orientation including classroom and lab training
- Scrubs are provided; bring your own lock for locker and hospital-designated shoes
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be requested upfront per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved, including after submission
- No holiday RTO permitted
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility and may not currently or recently have been employed full time, part time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity
