Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift position requiring at least 2.5 years of Level II trauma center experience and a CA RN license.

Details

• Work in a combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department within a Level II Trauma Center
• Facility is STEMI and Stroke certified
• Night shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12 hours, 1900-0730)
• Weekend shifts required per department needs
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating within the hospital required based on census
• Uses EPIC for documentation

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
• CPI and TNCC certifications preferred
• Minimum 2.5 years of experience in a large Level II trauma center required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation monitoring
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and orthopedic trauma care
• Experience with neuro-trauma conditions such as CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain injury preferred
• Experience with pediatric trauma cases such as head injury and near drowning preferred
• Experience with gunshot wounds and traumatic amputation preferred
• One professional reference required within the last 2 years
• Current Nursys verification required, pulled within 2 weeks of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a combined adult and pediatric population in a high-acuity trauma setting
• Respond to shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, and orthopedic trauma
• Manage cardiac monitoring and emergency response for dysrhythmias
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply if they meet the required experience threshold
• Previous permanent staff at the facility are not eligible to apply
• Time off must be pre-approved and submitted at the time of consideration; no additional time off can be added afterward
• Holiday time off is not guaranteed and will be reviewed separately closer to the holiday season
• Local candidates are accepted at a lower rate
