Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift role requiring WI or compact RN licensure and two years of recent acute care experience.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts (1900-0730), 3x per week
• Weekend and holiday rotations based on operational need
• Floating required as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum two years of acute care experience within the last three years in med/surg specialty required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to starting assignment, including strict criteria on lethal rhythm identification and heart block interpretation
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line management, and PICC line care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience managing respiratory equipment such as BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with GI care including bowel obstruction and colostomy/ileostomy management
• Experience with renal care including CBI and hemodialysis management
• Experience administering medications such as heparin, insulin, and PCA

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to med/surg and telemetry patients, including monitoring, medication administration, and wound care
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• First-time travelers considered if they have three years of recent inpatient med/surg experience
• Must live 50+ miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
