Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist with 2+ years of cardiac cath lab experience for an acute care hospital setting.

Details

  • Acute care hospital with 304 staffed beds
  • Diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab setting
  • Runs 4-5 labs per day with 2-3 cases per lab, averaging 20-25 cases daily
  • 4x10 hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, though hours may extend until procedures are complete
  • On-call requirements include one weekend (Fri-Sun) per 7 weeks plus a call shift and evening shift every week
  • Holiday coverage required as needed
  • No floating between service lines or to sister facilities
  • Charting completed in Epic
  • Block scheduling may be requested but requires manager approval and is not guaranteed

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required
  • BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA only)
  • RCIS (CCI) or ARRT certification required, registered or in process
  • South Carolina RN license required if applicable; candidates with a pending license may be considered but must have an active license before starting
  • Radiation badge required, to be provided by the assigned agency
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • Proficient in coronary diagnostic and interventional procedures including scrubbing and monitoring
  • Skilled in cardiac stent placement, left and right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, and rotablator atherectomy
  • Experience with Impella insertion preferred
  • Experience with vascular studies, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, embolization, and IVC filter placement
  • Familiarity with PACS, Fuji Vidistar, and MAC Lab equipment preferred
  • Driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include accurate patient monitoring and performing cardiac cath lab procedures such as stent placement, catheterization, PCI, PTCA, and rotablator atherectomy
  • Hospital-issued scrubs provided for Cath Lab staff
  • During hurricane season (June through November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams
  • First-time travelers will be considered for this position
  • Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a travelers
  • Local candidates are accepted on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate; non-local candidates are prioritized within a 60-mile radius rule
  • All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for consideration
