Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 1 year of experience and an active NJ or compact RN license.

Details

• General medical/surgical unit caring for stroke/TIA, UTI, sepsis, pneumonia, and isolation patients
• Patients also include those with weakness or unsteady gait from surrounding community, assisted living, and nursing care facilities
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30) on a 36-hour week
• Every other weekend required
• Unit accepts first-time travelers

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and rapid response/code team protocols
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management skills required
• Respiratory care skills including nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, and oxygen administration
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE use
• Any charting system experience required; Epic experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct medical/surgical nursing care including cardiac monitoring and respiratory support
• Navy scrub top and bottom required
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to be considered; local candidates are not accepted
• Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Core onboarding items and labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
• Modules completed onsite during orientation, averaging 4-6 hours for RNs
